Medication at school

It is important that the school is notified if a child requires medication during school hours or while attending school-based activities after hours. This request can be made via a letter (for short term medication) or the completion of a request to administer medication at school  permission form if the student has a chronic long term medical condition.

Furthermore it is essential that the school is notified in writing (with an accompanying letter from the prescribing health practitioner) when changes occur to a child's routine or emergency medications. Medications administered by the school must be in the original container issued by the pharmacist with a label indicating dosages and times. The medication must be current. The school will not administer 'over the counter' medications unless prescribed by a doctor.
