Our multi-sensory environment (MSE) is a dedicated room that attempts to block out noise and control space, temperature and lighting. It is an artificially created venue that brings together multi-sensory equipment in one place to stimulate the senses. This venue promotes pleasure and/or feelings of well being and is utilised as a part of a child's learning or for leisure and relaxation.
Our MSE is especially designed to promote choice, interaction and relationships through planned stimulation of the senses. The MSE can help students by providing an opportunity for individuals to experience: sensory stimulation, skill maintenance, expression of feelings, pleasure, trust building, relaxation and spatial awareness.
