Pets and People Education Program

11/03/2014
On March 10th guest speakers from Greencross Veterinarians and NQ Wildlife Care visited TCLC to teach students about caring for pets and other wildlife they might find in their backyard. Jenny from NQ Wildlife brought along a wallaby that she is caring for and the veterinarian brought along a small dog for the students to learn about.

All classes at TCLC will take part in the program and these visits support what students are learning in English and Science this term.  Students could ask Who, What, When, Where and Why questions which would help them to create a retell to deliver to their English class. Students in the Junior school are learning about living and non-living things in Science and students in Middle school are learning about the habitats of different living things.

All TCLC classes will have visits from a veterinary nurse and a wildlife carer during March as they learn about caring for a pet and the wildlife in their backyard.
