Harmony Day 2013

The diversity in cultural backgrounds of both the students and staff at TCLC was evident at our Harmony Day whole school assembly.  Students who were acknowledged at the assembly come from Brazil, the Philippines and New Zealand.  Our students who are descendants from the First Peoples of Australia were also acknowledged for the richness of culture they bring to our community. One of our students also has Creole as his first language at home.

Staff also hail from around the globe – England, New Zealand, The Netherlands, South Africa, the Philippines and Iran. John, from the Senior school, attended a community Harmony Day event with the principal, Chris Dawes and he shared the experience with the assembly.  He got to sample food from other cultures and watch dancers perform who come from the other side of the world.

The Administration block was regaled with HATS!  Our principal, who has travelled extensively, brought in her collection of hats from around the globe and it was great to trace where they come from on the world map.  Harmony Day was a true celebration at our school.
