Anzac Day School Assembly

To honour those who have served our country both in the past and present, the school community held an ANZAC Day ceremony on Wednesday 23rd April. The guest speaker was Sergeant Phil Lawlor who addressed the students for the third consecutive year.  He has strong links with the school through the Thuringowa RSL.

Each class made a wreath in class which they lay to honour the fallen.  A senior student, Adam, spoke to the assembly about his relatives who had fought in a war. Thai, a student from the Middle sector, recited the Ode to the Fallen.

The assembly was also an opportunity to acknowledge the students in each sector of the school who have followed the Cool Tool for the month of April: Look, Listen and Learn.

Junior sector: Brianna
Middle sector: Tuckana and Dalton
Senior sector: Sam

Congratulations to these students for being role models to their peers. Students were awarded their certificates by police officers from Mundingburra Police Station who were also guests at our assembly: Senior Constable Lauren, Constable Renee and Constable Andrew. We acknowledge the important role models they also provide for the students at TCLC.
