Anzac Day Ceremony

On the 24th April the students and staff met in B block to celebrate and recognise Anzac Day. Our special guests, Lieutenant Waugh, Sergeant Cleary and Gunner Muller from the Australian Army spoke about Anzac Day and why this day is so special. Thai and Joel from the senior sector wrote and presented a talk about Anzac Day. Three police representatives from Mundingburra Police Station joined us as special guests as well.

Thuringowa RSL generously donated a book – a story about Anzac Day which was presented at our assembly. After the commemorative ceremony 2 representatives from each sector laid a wreath. Congratulations to all the students who behaved excellently and seemed to understand and respect the importance of the assembly.

Following the assembly all the students had the opportunity to see/touch and hear 2 armoured troop carriers. This was a huge hit with all the students. Thank you to Christine Hero for organising the carriers to visit the school.
